💡 JUST ANNOUNCED: Paddy McGuinness will be the one flipping the big switch for the 2026 Blackpool Illuminations on Friday 4 September and lighting up the world‑famous Illuminations in front of thousands.

The BBC Radio 2 favourite and much‑loved comedian takes centre stage as this year’s official Switch‑On star, kicking off one of the biggest nights in Blackpool’s events calendar.

Blackpool Airshow Update!

The Red Devils Army Parachute Display Team, one of the world’s most iconic parachute display teams, have confirmed on their website they will perform at this summer’s Blackpool Air Show

The Red Devils are an elite unit of the British Army Parachute Regiment. The 15 members are highly-skilled paratroopers chosen through a rigorous selection process. Competition for a place on the team is fierce, and it’s an honour to be selected.

The Red Devils will put on a breath-taking display over Blackpool on Saturday 8th August, the first day of a two day Airshow weekend.

JUST ANNOUNCED: DRONE SHOW AT STANLEY PARK

Amazing news! A spectacular drone show will illuminate the skies above Stanley Park on October 3 as part of a special anniversary weekend celebrating the park's 100th year.

The display will be created by Celestial, the company behind the viral drone show filmed at Stanley Park for Britain's Got Talent in 2025, and later seen by millions of viewers across the UK.

The drone show is the headline event of a special two-day centenary festival (2-3 October).

Across the weekend, you can expect:
🎪 An artisan market and family fairground rides
🎭 Live entertainment and activity sessions for all ages
🏃‍♂️ A countdown build-up starting this Saturday, 27 June, with a special 100-day centenary parkrun

ROYAL HONOUR FOR MOOKY THE CLOWN

We have some absolutely massive news to share! Laci Endresz, best known to millions as the legendary Mooky the Clown, has been awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) in the King’s Birthday Honours for services to entertainment.

For 27 years straight, Laci has been the face of the Tower Circus. He headlines over 350 shows a year and hasn't missed a single one🎪

On top of performing, he writes and directs the entire production and even builds the props behind the scenes.

Laci said: "Over the last three decades, I’ve had the honour of entertaining millions of visitors to The Blackpool Tower Circus. It isn’t a job to me; it is my passion and calling in life."

So many of us have grown up watching him perform and it’s wonderful to see his hard work and dedication officially recognised.

Massive congratulations, Laci! Thank you for keeping Blackpool laughing for all these years ❤️
