Do you have disabled access? Guest Rooms are not accessible for those with physical impairment as a result of all rooms being located on upper floors, access via stairs only. Due to the heritage of the property, we have no ground floor guest rooms. Due to a number of guests taking items when they check out, such as expensive pump soap cannisters, Egyptian cotton towels and quality solid wood coat hangers, it is now necessary for me to take inventory of every item in each guest room, checking after check-out and I will invoice guests where appropriate. What time is check-in? Check in at the Sirocco Blues Guest House is open from 15:00 until 19:00. When do we check out? Check out is by 10:30

Can we leave our luggage if we arrive earlier? We prefer guests to retain their luggage until check in, as we are unable to accept responsibility for its safekeeping. Once formally checked in, the luggage is safe in their lockable room. BREAKFAST

Do you accommodate Stag, Hen or other parties at the Sirocco Blues Guest House? The Sirocco Blues Guest House is solely family and couples orientated. We have quiet hours from 22:00 until 07:00 due to the fact we have children staying at the property. There are many hotels and B&Bs who will welcome your stay at their property. How can we check availability and book with you? Please contact us through our FB page via message, through email [email protected] or telephone us directly on 01253 313816

Do we have to pay a deposit? Due to short notice/arrival day cancellations, we no longer take bookings without the required booking fee which will be deducted from the balance owing if multiple nights are booked. We require a booking fee which is non refundable and deducted from the overall balance as stated above. Stays are a minimum of two nights. For two nights, we require a booking fee which is the equivalent of the first night and is also non refundable, payable via bank transfer. For longer periods, we require a booking fee of £100 which is also non-refundable.

**Sirocco Blues Guest House only uses a business account with a major bank, on occasion our bank does not acknowledge lesser known online banking institutions, in which case you will need to telephone your bank directly to pay the booking fee or outstanding balance on arrival**

Is a booking fee refundable? As mentioned above, no. A booking fee is not refundable and is deducted from the balance owed, ie if you book for three nights at £70 a night, that is £210 overall, however, we will take a booking fee of £70, with the balance of £140 owing. However, we will allow you to modify dates within a six month period and like-for-like if you have an emergency or should illness occur, please provide as much notice as possible - if a guest notifies us within a 48 hour period, it is too short a window for us to relet the room. Do you accept cards? Not at this property. A booking fee is required by bank transfer, only then will we hold the room/s. The balance is payable at the property either via bank transfer or in cash. We do require a valid email to send you an invoice. Are there hidden fees? Occasionally accidents resulting in damages occur or a guest loses their keys. We ask our guests to let us know as soon as possible so that we can assess any damage and try to keep costs to a minimum if repairs/replacements are required. For loss of keys, we do charge £65 to cover a locksmith call out - if a locksmith is called outside normal office hours and they charge a higher fee guests must pay the locksmith's fees for lock change and copies made. For damages, assessment will be required and guests accept they are responsible for damages when proceeding with a reservation here. If damage has occurred and the guest has not notified the property owner at check out of any damage, we reserve the right to pursue the cost of damages even if it means a small claims through the court. Do we have parking? Due to the heritage of this property, we are unable to provide parking. There is a carpark located at Cocker Square, which is a minute from this property. There are other car parks, such as Bank Street, otherwise it is street parking where available. Is there Wi-Fi? There is wifi throughout the property. While we do not charge for this service it is also not included in the room rate and a courtesy when available as speeds cannot be guaranteed due to shared bandwidth. Can we bring takeaway food into our rooms? We do not allow fresh foods in our guest rooms. They have the potential to stain linens (to our considerable cost in the past) and towels, leaving lingering smells which are difficult to remove from soft furnishings. Can we smoke at The Sirocco Blues Guest House? As already mentioned: We adopt a strict NO SMOKING policy at our property, which is a legal requirement. There is a seated area at the front of the property outside. Smoking is not permitted on the premises. If guests breach this policy, a fee of £50 is payable which the lead guest accepts when making a booking. If my NO SMOKING policy is ignored and a guest smokes, causing damage to window sills or soft furnishings including carpet, I will pursue recompense for repairs or replacement through the civil court. Do we have to be in by a certain time? As well as a key for your room, you get a key for the front door to come and go as you please during your stay. All we ask is that if you come in late you respect that others may already be asleep. We operate quiet hours between 10pm and 7am, we ask guests to be respectful of others. Can we purchase alcoholic beverages? We aren't licensed and do not have have a bar. Our property is close to many bars, pubs and clubs which are licensed premises. Do you accommodate pets? Unfortunately not. Just to make you aware that we have three housecats known as The MusCATeers, who are Mister Kaz (A little local celebrity as he loves nothing more than putting on his harness and having a walk outside where he can enjoy the fuss and attention from passersby), Shiva the Diva, and Bella Donna aka Belly Belly as we call her because she loves her food. Due to having three housecats, we are therefore unable to accommodate other people's pets. We can assure guests that none of the MusCATeers are allowed near/in guest rooms. Last thing at night they are secured in the lounge area until just after breakfast service each morning to ensure I am able to throughly clean/sanitise the breakfast room and surrounding areas.

Just met Jay (Justin) who had a lovely natter with me about the dance studio he runs with his missus. They offer a first class free, then it's just £10 each Wednesday evening, taking people of all abilities including absolute beginners and I thought, "What a brilliant idea for something for my guests to do during their stay in Blackpool".

Whether you are a local or visitor and looking for something different to do, check out Jay's dance studio and perhaps find yourself a new interest 🥰🕺💃

Been on my feet since 4am yesterday - started by cleaning/making up guests rooms in readiness for check ins today, then it's been cake making, whipping various frostings and creams, seeing to guests, answering the door numerous times, same with the phone.

Will be up at the crack of dawn - or is that dawn's crack?! No, right, the former it is! And if you see me wandering aimlessly tomorrow, clueless about who or where I am, just leave me to ponder those little things because I'll be looking for my mind 😂

Front of the house is looking colourful. LGBTQi+ bunting in place, same with the flags. It's looking splendid indeed! A huge THANK YOU to my mate Tracey Applin of Tracey's Driftwood Blackpool and her friend Chad for their help today, you've been wonderful and we'll have a blast this weekend ❤️

Brilliant!

Brilliant Rainbow Quarter meeting yesterday afternoon. It was great to meet everyone there and discuss the final details for the weekend. It was touching to see the community coming together and supporting one another.

I also got to meet one of the British wrestling GREATS. None other, the esteemed Peter Thornley aka Kendo Nagasaki! I grew up watching him wrestle, either on TV or when I would visit local venues in Worthing, West Sussex and also Croydon, London. To see Peter at the meeting just about blew my mind. Very friendly guy and he'd put us all to shame as in his 80s, he's still training/wrestling and in November he's going for another Guinness Book of Records world title for being the oldest male professional wrestler to take part in a match. Kendo continues being a formidable and towering personality in the history of British sport. Yesterday was a very special day for me. To finally meet and get a hug from Peter was incredible, I'll never forget it.

This is Blackpool, everyone is used to our uniquely changeable weather here 😉 There'll be lots of places to shelter, but whatever happens, everyone will have a blast and a little water isn't going to dampen anyone's spirit. If it rains, we're all dancing! ❤️

It's sods law, folks, after all the glorious weather, it looks like this Pride weekend looks to be forecasting showers, so that's why we will be having gazebos to shelter and of course all the bars with drying facilities, and plenty of indoor seating for the ultimate shelter should you need it, and should you need to pop back to your hotel, its not miles to walk either..
