How it all started,
sixteen years ago we were staying somewhere local and we thought we can do this, so we went home put our family home on the market and in July 2006 we bought what is now known as Jays Mayfair. Little did we know how much work would be required to bring this old Victorian building up to what it looks like today. the House was built back in the late 1800's so we have tried to mai
ntain the heritage of the building whilst bring some modern comforts into place. So back in 2006 when we bought the place our kids were just entering into their teens and our customers have seen them grow, they can run rings round us in running this place and have both ended up in the hospitality trade working in local pubs, and although they have moved out you will still see them popping in and helping out when needed, or coming back to see guests who they have grown to call friends over the last sixteen years. Lots has changed in the building especially over the last twelve months during the covid pandemic- but we now realise how much we miss welcoming guests into our home for them to enjoy all that Blackpool has to offer. On arriving you will be welcomed into our home generally in the dining room as its at the front of the property, and you will then be shown to your room, We have 1 x small double en-suite, 2 x double en-suite rooms and 2 x interconnecting family rooms ours are a little different as you get two rooms in one, both rooms sleep 4 and welcome children aged 4 and above. In the room you'll find a kettle with tea & coffee, hairdryer, freshly laundered towels which are changed daily and we can provide an iron & ironing board on request. Each Morning you will get a full cooked breakfast including locally sourced Bacon, Sausage, Beans, Tinned Plum Tomato, Hash Brown, Jays famous fried bread and eggs of your choice, you'll also get fresh orange juice, Pots of Tea & Coffee, and lashing of toast with choice of jams and marmalade. For those who like a lighter breakfast or have specific dietary requirements they can choose from our daily breakfast menu , although if you do have a specific requirement we advise letting us know at time of booking.
