NEW! 🚨 A beloved BBC drama is heading back in time, and we've now got our first details about a brand new prequel that has officially started filming.
Call the Midwife: Sisters in Arms will take us to Poplar in 1939, long before the events of the main series, as war begins to change life for the community and the women who dedicate themselves to caring for others.
We'll get to meet younger versions of some of the show's most loved characters, including Sister Julienne, Sister Monica Joan and Sister Evangelina, giving fans a chance to see their stories in a completely new way.
Set during World War Two, the three-part Christmas special will follow the team at Nonnatus House as they face huge challenges while continuing their vital work, with bombs falling across London and families struggling through difficult times.
A host of new stars have joined the cast, while Jenny Agutter will return as the narrator, helping connect the new series to the world that millions of viewers already know and love.
With filming now underway, us Call the Midwife fans have plenty to look forward to when Sisters in Arms arrives on BBC screens this Christmas.
