No cooking, no washing up… just good food and great company waiting for you this Friday at The Talbot 🌞

Gather your friends, bring the family, and kick off the weekend properly with delicious food, drinks flowing, and the best village pub atmosphere around 🔥

The weather is looking great…. if the apps are to be believed and a dinner out in the beer garden is certainly not out of the question. Our Mixed Grill back by popular demand offers you:

- 8oz Rump steak!

🌶️🔥 CURRY NIGHT AT THE TALBOT 🔥🌶️

Who would have thought a cosy curry night would feel so perfect for mid-May? 🍛🍷

This Friday we’ll be serving up a delicious selection of warming curries with both sit-in and takeaway available:

🌶️ Classic South African Bobotie
🌶️ Goan Goat Curry
🌶️ Chicken Madras
🌶️ African Peanut Curry

All served with sambals, fluffy rice, naan bread and thick creamy yoghurt for those who like to tame the spice a little 😄

As Fridays are one of our busiest food evenings and I’ll be flying solo in the kitchen while our wonderful chef prepares to say his “I do’s” on Saturday 💍, we’ll only be serving our curry menu this evening and not our usual menu.

💍 A Special Day for Our Chef 💍

Please note that our kitchen will be CLOSED on SATURDAY 16 MAY for both lunch and dinner service.

Our wonderful chef, Ian Chalmers, is getting married, and we’ve been invited to celebrate this very special occasion with him ❤️

We’re sure everyone who knows Ian and has enjoyed his incredible food at The Talbot will join us in wishing him every happiness as he begins this exciting new chapter.

Richard and I would also like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Ian for everything he brings to The Talbot kitchen. We truly couldn’t do it without him. Behind the scenes, he has taught me so much, supported us endlessly, and has been an absolute joy to work alongside. We are incredibly fortunate to have him in our corner and proud to call him not just our chef, but our friend.

🍻 The Talbot will still be OPEN for drinks from 12pm until close, so please do pop in and raise a glass with us to the happy couple!

We light the coals, snap our tongs, and play meat DJ on the braai!

Braaiing (BBQ’ing) is basically a religion for us, and we’d love you to join us this Sunday at The Talbot for a proper meat fest of note. (Don’t worry — a veggie option will be available and just as delicious!)
