Sad news that another of our “elders” has bitten the dust.

This avenue of magnificent Monterey pines has been here since 1772 , when some of the farm cottages were improved and our farmhouse “gentrified”.

This well rounded old chap fell victim to the particularly dry summer and split down the middle.

His limbs were surgically removed so we can preserve his torso as an insect hotel.

Thanks to Christopher H***e Tree Services for coming so promptly to safely bring the tree down.

Why is Swissie smiling?
a) because he’s having his photo taken?

The tups (male sheep!) are in with the lovely sheep ladies hopefully covering them all, ready for lambing over Christmas!

Unusually we have had to put hay in for the sheep. The hay yield has been better than last year, but feeding months earlier than we would normally isn’t so good for the hay supply! 🙄

It’s never easy!

It is not just beautiful weddings we host at Warborne….

This weekend was quite a unique 40th birthday celebration! Our lovely neighbours hired the farm for the weekend and invited family and friends along - dressed as ‘Creatures of the Forest’ - everyone enjoyed a fabulous Bird of Prey demonstration, a Summer Solstice march, delicious BBQ that was topped off with a great band and dancing into the night! The weather was gorgeous with a spectacular sunset! Quite a treat.

Just for the record, a full sheep’s fleece outfit is, apparently, a tad smelly and very hot (are we surprised 😜), it was sheared off by the evening! The rabbit had some complaints too, once the dancing started and the ears became a slight liability!! 🐇🐇😂

We regularly have all the barns accommodation, which sleeps 41, as well as The Wool Shed utilised by family and friends for a range of special occasions; it is a privilege to be able to host these precious moments…..

Drop us an email ([email protected]) if you would love to have a weekend with friends and family at the farm.

The sheep and the goats are happily sharing the Park field.

Sadly, one of the Mummy goats died recently leaving behind 2 orphan kids. 😔

Fortunately, they are happily mixing with the other kids and goat Mum and have taken to the bottle well.

Just when we thought bottle feeding season was over… 😏🙂
