We're doing some market research and thought Facebook could help! We currently have fantastic reviews on Google, TripAdvisor and Booking .com but we don't have an official star rating through the AA or VisitEngland. When you're booking accommodation in the UK how important is it to you that there is an official rating? For us to apply to the AA, for example, it would cost us £678 and we're not sure if that's money well spent. We'd be very grateful for your thoughts. Louise and Andy 😀

Celebrate the Summer Solstice Festival at our Crooked Spire ☀️

Marking the longest day of the year, the Summer Solstice Festival is taking place at the Crooked Spire on Saturday 20th June.

While the actual astronomical event is at 9:24am on Sunday 21st, you can join the festivities on Saturday 20th, for Chesterfield's own community celebration.

🎶 There'll be a variety of music from choirs, soloists, and instrumentalists performing throughout the day.

🍔 As well as delicious food and drink from selected local vendors.

Offering a fantastic, fun event lasting the whole day.

We've had a very busy week, lots of washing, drying, ironing but it's all worth it when guests leave with smiles and full tummys! We even had two separate couples from Mansfield which is only a few miles away! They just wanted to get out of the four walls, stay somewhere peaceful, go for a few drinks and something to eat, have a good night's sleep and enjoy our delicious breakfast in the garden! Happy bank holiday everyone! 😎

We have a lovely garden with what we call a rustic area for insects and wildlife! We even have bats flying about in the evenings during the summer. What we didn't expect to see over the last few days was a hedgehog. In broad daylight in the middle of the lawn. We fed him with some cat food but was still hanging around today so he's been taken to a local rescue Chesterfield hedgehog rescue & rehabilitation. He's a very poorly little hog but he's being treated and there's hope that he'll be coming back to us. Fingers crossed everyone. ❤️
