Ranking at #12 in the UK on their world's best beaches list, this is a massive win for our seven miles of golden sands and sparkling seas. But what makes this recognition truly special is that it was voted for by YOU - the readers and visitors who love our coastline as much as we do! ❤️

Huge news for our beautiful coastline! 🌊✨ The finalists for the DMB Tourism Awards 2026 have just been announced, and Bournemouth’s brilliant hospitality sector is shining brighter than ever! 🏆

Congratulations to all of our incredible Bournemouth & Poole Tourism Partners who made the shortlist. A special shoutout to the wonderful Marsham Court Hotel for scooping an amazing three nominations! 👏 Our vibrant hotel scene is also heavily represented by the fantastic teams at Holiday Inn and the Highcliff Marriott Hotel. 🏨🥂

We also have to give a huge nod to our legendary nightlife! The dynamic event producers at HSWRK - who bring such phenomenal energy to our shoreline with their events at Key West right at the end of Bournemouth Pier - are up for two awards! 🎶🌅

While we love championing our Bournemouth businesses, our town's success is deeply connected to our spectacular neighbours across the Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole and wider Dorset region. A huge well done to our Christchurch partners, Captain's Club Hotel and Spa (who beautifully hosted the announcement event) and The Castle Pantry, Highcliffe as well as Poole’s South Lytchett Manor Caravan and Camping Park, and Purbeck's world-renowned Monkey World! 🐒⛺️

‼️ TONIGHT’S FIREWORKS CANCELLED ‼️

We are so sorry to share that tonight’s (Friday 28th August) fireworks display on Bournemouth Beach has unfortunately been cancelled by the local council due to high winds and unsafe conditions at sea, meaning the fireworks cannot be safely launched from the barge. 💨🌊

We know how frustrating this is for everyone who was looking forward to their return - we are just as gutted as you are!

✨ THE GOOD NEWS FOR NEXT WEEK:
To make up for tonight, next Friday’s display (4th September) is being upgraded into a LARGER SEASON FINALE so we can truly finish the summer in style! 🎆🚀
(Plus, don’t forget our friends across the bay have their display at Poole Quay on Thursday 3rd September too!)
If you’re already heading down to the seafront tonight, our fantastic local bars, restaurants, and attractions are open and ready to welcome you for a great Friday evening out.
