‼️ TONIGHT’S FIREWORKS CANCELLED ‼️

We are so sorry to share that tonight’s (Friday 28th August) fireworks display on Bournemouth Beach has unfortunately been cancelled by the local council due to high winds and unsafe conditions at sea, meaning the fireworks cannot be safely launched from the barge. 💨🌊

We know how frustrating this is for everyone who was looking forward to their return - we are just as gutted as you are!

✨ THE GOOD NEWS FOR NEXT WEEK:
To make up for tonight, next Friday’s display (4th September) is being upgraded into a LARGER SEASON FINALE so we can truly finish the summer in style! 🎆🚀
(Plus, don’t forget our friends across the bay have their display at Poole Quay on Thursday 3rd September too!)
If you’re already heading down to the seafront tonight, our fantastic local bars, restaurants, and attractions are open and ready to welcome you for a great Friday evening out.

Thank you so much for your understanding - stay safe, and we’ll see you next week for an extra-special finale! ❤️

‼️ EVENT UPDATE: ICYMI - FRIDAY FIREWORKS CANCELLED ‼️

Following a decision by BCP Council, tonight’s Bournemouth Friday Fireworks display (Friday 21st August) will not go ahead. (You can read the full statement from the Council at the bottom of this post).

We know this is disappointing news for everyone looking forward to a Friday night by the sea. The fireworks are a highlight of our summer, but the safety of our residents, visitors, and open spaces must always come first.

If you are heading to the coast this weekend, please help us protect our beautiful shoreline:
🚫 No open fires or BBQs
🚭 Please dispose of cigarette butts carefully
🗑️ Take your rubbish home

Thank you for your understanding as we all play our part to keep Bournemouth safe and clean. 🌊💙

Official Statement from BCP Council:
“Following a number of discussions in recent days, a decision has been made to cancel the upcoming fireworks at Poole Quay (20 August) and Bournemouth beach (21 August).

Although patches of rain are forecast for the coming days, there is still a significantly increased risk of wildfires as a result of an excessive period of hot and dry weather. This increased risk is putting pressure on emergency services across the region.

We’re grateful for the public’s understanding as we all play our part in keeping our communities, open spaces and emergency services safe during these heightened conditions.”

‼️ UPDATE: Tonight’s fireworks will not be going ahead. ‼️

You may have received the Government’s wildfire emergency alert this evening. To protect our incredible natural spaces, residents, and visitors, tonight’s 10pm Bournemouth Friday fireworks have been cancelled.

We know how much you all love our Friday night displays, and we’re so sorry to share this disappointing news! However, safety must be put first.

If you're still heading down to enjoy a beautiful, peaceful evening on the coast, please stay vigilant:
🚫 No open fires
🚫 No BBQs
🚭 Take all rubbish and cigarette butts with you

. Look after our coast. 🌊💙
