🌿 Meet Rusty… the gentle giant of Southlands 🐘
One of the most talked-about features of our garden is Rusty the Elephant, peacefully standing amongst the trees and greenery here at Southlands B&B in beautiful Bourton-on-the-Water.
Guests love relaxing in the garden with a cup of tea, listening to the birdsong and spotting Rusty watching over everything — he’s become quite the local celebrity!

There’s always one guest favourite in our garden… and it’s definitely Rusty 🐘❤️

Our life-size elephant has become quite the celebrity here, bringing smiles, laughter and plenty of photo opportunities for guests of all ages. From fun poses to big grins, we love seeing everyone making memories with Rusty during their stay.

He may not move much… but he certainly knows how to make an impression! 😄

Name Our Life-Size Elephant & Win a B&B Stay in the Cotswolds! 🐘

We have a rather unusual guest at our B&B—one who never checks out! Standing proudly in our front garden is a magnificent life-size elephant, and we think it’s about time they had a name. That’s where you come in!

We’re inviting you to get creative and take part in our Elephant Naming & Storytelling Competition. The challenge?

✔️ Come up with the perfect name for our elephant
✔️ Tell us the tale of how they came to be in our garden

Was our elephant a gift from a wandering explorer? A wayward circus performer who fell in love with the Cotswolds? A guardian spirit watching over our guests? The more imaginative, the better!

The Prize: The best name and story combination will win a Buy One, Get One Free night at our charming B&B—just in time for Summer 2025!

As we step into our second season, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude for the incredible support we received in our first year. It exceeded all expectations and we couldn't have done it without you - our amazing guests!
