Our team trip continued with a visit to Uley Brewery, tucked away near Nailsworth, for a look behind the scenes at one of our brilliant local suppliers.

A few moments from inside the brewery, meeting the people behind the pints and seeing exactly where it all happens.

Local really does mean local around here. 👌

Pork & black pudding, Bramley apple gel and lollo rosso - a very good reason to pull up a chair and stay for a bite.

A very successful team day out 🍻

We recently headed over to Stroud Brewery to meet the people behind the beer, see how it’s made and, naturally, sample a few along the way.

Getting out to meet the brilliant local producers we work with is something we want to do much more of - learning about what goes into the things we serve, supporting businesses on our doorstep and having a pretty good time while we’re at it.

If you’re staying with us, this one deserves a spot on the itinerary. 🌿

Lower Slaughter is one of those Cotswold villages that really does look as good as the pictures - honey-coloured stone, the River Eye running through the village and plenty of reasons to slow down and have a wander.

Explore, take far too many photos, then make your way back to The Mousetrap for dinner and a pint.

That sounds like a pretty good Cotswolds day to us.

Small brewery. Seriously good beer. 🍺

Just down the road in Uley, we spent the afternoon with Emily getting a proper look behind the scenes at Uley Brewery.

It’s small, independent and brilliantly local - exactly the kind of supplier we love working with at The Mousetrap.

The team got to see where the beer we pour at the bar actually comes from, meet the people behind it and, naturally, make sure it was up to standard.
Spoiler: it was.

A pint with very few miles on the clock. 🍺
Uley Brewery is just down the road from us, producing brilliant beer in the heart of the Cotswolds - including this Uley Pale, proudly sitting on our bar.
Great pubs need great beer. Even better when it comes from our neighbours. Keep your eyes peeled for a peek at the brewery over the next few weeks when come of our wonderful team had the chance to visit.

There’s something pretty special about the village first thing in the morning - quiet streets, calm water and almost nobody around.

One of the perks of staying over? You get Bourton-on-the-Water before everyone else does.

Wake up, wander out, take it all in… then head back to us for breakfast. ☕️

We took the team behind the scenes at Stroud Brewery to meet the people, see the process and understand a little more about what actually goes into the beer we pour back at The Mousetrap from managing director Greg.
Local suppliers are a huge part of what we do, so getting out of the pub and into the brewery to hear the story first-hand - followed by some very important taste testing - felt like time well spent.
Good people. Good beer. Very good afternoon.
