Lake District Walks Start and Finish at Storrs Gate House

Storrs Gate House is the perfect base for exploring the Lake District on foot. Whatever time of year you visit, you’ll be surrounded by spectacular scenery, changing colours and the sights and sounds of the seasons. Many of our guests return throughout the year to experience the Lakes in all their different moods.
Take a scenic ferry £1.50p per person across Windermere to Claife Heights, where you can visit the historic Claife Viewing Station, dating back to the 1790s, and enjoy one of the finest views across the lake. From here, you can continue on foot or by bicycle towards Wray Castle, following beautiful lakeside routes before stopping for tea at the castle.
