We have a guest with us this week taking on something extraordinary.

Peter Sanderson is staying at The Ryebeck ahead of a 100km ultra marathon across the Lake District on Saturday 5 September. He’s running in memory of the past year, for his daughter Ida, who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer twelve months ago and has faced treatment, hospital stays and more than any young person should have to.

Peter is raising money for two charities that have supported Ida and his family throughout: Teenage Cancer Trust and Little Lady Locks, which provides wigs and hair-loss support for children and young people going through cancer treatment.

Our Bottomless Brunch kicks things off on Saturday 29th August, 1–3pm. £45 per person gets you bottomless drinks and food, a specialised menu, and a live DJ to set the tone for the long weekend ahead. Whatever else you’ve got planned, this is a good way to start it.

One of the best things about staying with us is how little you have to travel to see the good stuff. Bowness-on-Windermere is a short walk down the hill, the lake itself is right there for a boat trip or a stroll along the shore, and you’re back with us in time for dinner.
