Milton Mains Holiday Cottages are a group of family run self catering cottages situated in Milton, near Brampton, Cumbria (postcode CA8 1JD). Each cottage has been converted giving them a fresh and contemporary finish whilst preserving many original stonework and beam features. Every cottage has its own wood-burning stove and all the amenities to make this relaxing break a home from home, with end

less outings possible from your doorstep; including to nearby Hadrian’s Wall, The Lake District, Pennines and Scottish Borders. The market town of Brampton is just 2 miles with a good range of shops, whilst the Border City of Carlisle is just 10 miles. There are many footpaths including Gelt Woods and Talkin Tarn Country Park just 3 miles where you can enjoy walking, running, sailing, rowing, an ice cream or bite to eat in the tea room or enjoy a picnic by the tranquil shores of the tarn. To relax at the end of the day there is also the availability of shared hot tub use (at £40/week or £20/short break) - perfect for easing those tired muscles after a day exploring. A wonderful place for a Cumbrian break at any time of year.

Tomorrow, 4th July is our re-opening after over 3 months of closure due to Covid-19 lockdown restrictions. We look forward to welcoming many returning and new guests to our self contained self-catering holiday cottages, in our beautiful part of the world.

We are following strict Covid-19 guidelines and have implemented many new safety measures, which we would like you follow. Together with our normal high cleaning standards, we will also be wearing PPE and carrying out thorough and vigorous cleaning and disinfection of all cottages and all surfaces before your arrival.

It is mandatory that Social Distancing of 2 metres with anyone outside your 'stay bubble' is adhered to at all times during your stay.
We normally like to greet you, welcome you to your cottage and show you round. Mabel is available to see you outside but can no longer see you into your cottage. All books, magazines, dvds, playing cards and games have been removed. Please bring your own books, dvds, cards or board games with you.
We have provided hand sanitiser, wipes and bleach spray for you to use within the cottage during your stay. However, these belong to Milton Mains Holiday Cottages, please do not take them off site and they are to remain in the cottage when you leave.

It is essential on leaving that you take all your personal belongings with you and empty the cupboards, fridge and freezer of all your food. And place rubbish in the bins outside your cottage or leave in black bags at your cottage door.
Please also open all the windows prior to your departure to allow a fresh supply of air into the cottage.
Check out must be before 10am to allow us to commence our enhanced and thorough cleaning protocols. We'll do our utmost to ensure check in continues to be 3pm onwards so you can settle in for your break. However, please be understanding that this may not always be possible.

Other than you adhering to the above, it is mandatory that if you have any symptoms at all, suspect you have Covid-19 or have been in contact with someone who now has Covid-19, you MUST NOT come to our holiday cottages. We'll be more than happy to rearrange your stay dates.
We are family run and our utmost priority is to protect the health of all visitors, staff and family members alike.

If you have a temperature, sore throat, cough, loss of taste/smell or any other symptoms do not travel. Stay at home, notify us and request a test.
If you start with any of the above symptoms on holiday you must ring us immediately and seek PHE advice. Do not leave your cottage other than to return home and we will have to postpone the break of the following guest/guests due to the 72 hour surface and fomite risk to cleaners.

Our last main point to mention is that the shared hot tub will no longer be in use. The Barn's self contained garden Hot Tub will be in use for The Barn's guests only.
