LOVE me a mini break - but it needs to be a decent one! 🤭😬

I want my holiday cottage to feel aspirational (aka better than my own house)

I want cute independent shops to mooch and beautiful historical surroundings

And a definitely expect posh breakfast snacks and a fancy bath!!

Call me high maintenance if you want, but it’s not that hard to tick all these off the list 😇 (and if you’re struggling just book the burrow & call it a job well done!)

The cottage is here if you need a little break too 🥰

That lady lives in my brain anytime I feel guilty about doing something a bit selfish when I need to recharge - it’s OK to fill your own cup - in fact; it’s very important.

What a Queen! Sometimes to give your best, you need a little reset.

Maternal self care is not - getting to go to the toilet on your own, waking up before everyone else so you can have a proper bath, those seconds of silence when you walk around the car to get in the driver seat 🤭🤣🙈

It is TIME ALONE , mental rest, time to miss your children (and maybe your partner?!) time without noise, long soaks in the bath in a house where you aren’t surrounded by chores!

You deserve it - whatever that looks like for you (I realise a stay in my holiday cottage might not be possible!!) - lets all learn from the fabulous lady that came to stay that time and reminded me that it is OK to want a break every now and then. 🩷🩷

Such a hard life running an award winning (I know it was a while ago guys but Im not letting go of a national award win - live EVER 🤣) holiday cottage 😉

Mostly the cottage is my very own little sanctuary, that I also get to share with you 🥰

One very unexpected bonus when I opened too was seeing my home city of Lincoln through fresh eyes (because I was thinking of it in terms of a staycation all of a sudden) and loving and appreciating it so much all over again.

But I’m not guna lie - body hair is my nemesis! 😝🤭

Nothing quite like packing for a trip!! Especially when you have aesthetic packing cubes 🤩

Even if I’m only going away for a night or two, organising my pants and socks beautifully in my bag is one of the joys of the trip for me!!

Romanticising even the smallest trips is totally fine, one or two nights in my gorgeous holiday cottage totally warrants your fanciest pyjamas, fluffiest slippers & all your pants folded into neat little squares!!! (just me?! 🤣🫢)

Save this for mext time you fancy a nice walk, good coffee and an epic brunch/lunch 🤩

Woodhall Spa is about a 20 minute drive from the holiday cottage and such a beautiful place for a mooch with so many independent shops and cafes.

My favourite spot for a bit to eat and an epic coffee is by far though ☺️ i think I am physically unable to walk past without grabbing a mocha!!

I always recommend a visit to Woodhall spa to our guests as well as Lincoln - it also has buckets of history and is quite unique; perfect staycation vibes!

Happy birthday to the holiday cottage - hard to believe all this stuff has happened! It all just wizzed by in a blur.

Things are starting to feel a bit autumnal aren’t they?! Or is it just me! The colder months are my favourite time for the holiday cottage because I think it is the perfect place to snuggle up away from the cold after a long country walk 🥰 Book yourself a little autumn treat to look forward to!!!

Asked my family to talk me down from impulse buying a disney phone case that instagram ads is forcing (🤣) me to buy today - and they all just said DO IT!

So im doing the same for you … just do it … that thing you have been tempted to treat yourself to / try out / visit … do it! You are totally worth it.
