🎉 Beachside at 40: Today and Tomorrow

By 2015, Beachside had reached another important stage in its story.
The purchase of Alfresco helped complete the shape of the park, while the original Beach Bungalow was replaced with a bespoke lodge — keeping the same much-loved name, but creating one of our most popular places to stay.

Today, Beachside is a place filled with private owners, holidaymakers, lodges, caravans, families and familiar faces — all forming part of the community.
A lot has changed since 1986, but the heart of Beachside remains the same: a family-run park, directly beside the beach, where memories are made year after year.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the Beachside story so far — and here’s to many more memories still to come. 💛

🎉 Beachside at 40: Beachside on Screen
Over the years, Beachside and the surrounding coastline have not only been the backdrop to family holidays — they’ve also appeared on screen.
From drama series and films to reality TV, production crews have used the park, caravans, beach and dunes as filming locations.
Some scenes were filmed right here on the park, including caravans used in Without Motive and Chloe, while the beach and dunes have appeared in productions including Another Mother’s Son, Skins, The Crow Girl and When She Sings.
Beachside also featured in Rich Holiday, Poor Holiday, with the caravan park scenes filmed on site.
It is a fun part of Beachside’s story — and a reminder that this little stretch of coastline has made memories both on holiday and on camera. 🎬

🎉 Beachside at 40: The Sundowner
One of Beachside’s biggest changes came in 2007, when work began on a new cafe and bar overlooking the beach.
The Sundowner Beach Bar Cafe opened in 2008 and quickly became a favourite spot for owners, guests and visitors to meet, relax and enjoy the view.
A few years later, the play area was moved closer to The Sundowner, helping make the top of the park an even better space for families.
From morning coffees and family lunches to live music, events and evenings by the sea, The Sundowner has become a big part of Beachside life. 💛

🎉 Beachside at 40: Becoming Beachside
By the late 1990s, the park was beginning to take on the shape that many owners and holidaymakers would recognise today.
The purchase of Trig Point Caravan Park added a large new area, creating more space for families to enjoy holidays by the sea. Soon after, Sand Dune Bungalow was purchased and became Beach Bungalow — a name that would go on to become one of our most loved places to stay.
Then, in 2000, Embelle Holiday Park became Beachside Holiday Park.
It was a new name, but it reflected something that had always been true: the park’s special connection to the beach.
With the Benay area joining soon after, Beachside continued to grow into a place of familiar faces, returning families and memories made by the sea. 💛
