One of the lovely visitors to the Barn that we have had recently… one of a family of three hoglets ❤️ This photo was taken at nearly 10pm, even though it looks like it was daylight. They had been coming out in the day, I think they were struggling with the heat but after some cat food and water being left out for them, they are hopefully returning to their normal waking hours.

There are many ways to climb Pen y Fan - the highest peak in the Brecon Beacons. This route from the Brecon side of the mountain is a beauty. You walk along a ridge to Cribyn, before heading over to Pen y Fan. I love the dramatic views of the central Beacons peaks from the North side ❤️

Our top 3 nearby towns to visit from Pentwyn Barn… Abergavenny - a foodie delight with some great markets, cafes and parks… next up is Hay on Wye with so many lovely independent shops, a fantastic market and the unique opportunity to arrive there by canoe along the River Wye with the many canoe hire companies close by… and last but not least Crickhowell - a place where I always manage to buy something from the bakers/ bookshop/ cafes/ zero waste shop!
