✨🌠 Leonid meteor shower

The autumn and winter months are typically the best time of year to go stargazing, especially here in Bannau Brycheiniog.

☄️ Now is the perfect time to catch the Leonid meteor shower, which is running until 30 November. The Leonids are debris from Comet Tempel-Tuttle. These shooting stars are known for their speed and colourful tails, and even some fireballs!

Did you know our National Park is an International Dark Sky Reserve? With some of the highest quality dark skies in the whole of the UK, it’s the perfect destination to explore the cosmos 🌌

My favourite time of year and in my humble opinion the best time of year to explore Bannau Brycheiniog and the Black Mountains (as long as you have a cosy cottage to cwtch up in afterwards, of course!)
