The events supply chain is on the brink of collapse and needs urgent support to survive the current Covid crisis. Having worked within the industry on and off for the last 32 years the current situation is unprecedented.

Today is going to be an important day for the whole events industry.

Many supply chain companies will not survive much longer without urgent government support and many skilled freelancers will not survive financially with the ending of government support.

We are calling for support from the government until social distancing has ended:

1.Grants not loans - made available to all businesses involved in the events supply chain

2.Furlough scheme extended until the industry is back to work

3.Extension of the self - employment scheme tailored towards the industry

I have not spent the last 12 years working 7 days a week building up my company to have it taken away from me and for many skilled freelancers to have to abandon the industry.

It is not all about festivals and large scale events many charity organisations receive all their funding from putting on fundraising events and are also in a dire situation.

We are normally first at a venue and the last out , this time we are the first out and the last back in.
