Systems in this country are just broken.

If anyone needs to do a Gov ID check for things such as changing driving licence details or Companies House check etc. then please do not choose the post office on Bridgnorth High Street as their tablet is not working. They say shouldn't be bookable, but it is. You then get locked in with that option and can't revert back to app.

Tried explaining to some foreigner four times on chat for the Gov app and got nowhere. When I called the number given a voice message directed me to another number. Gave up and went down email route with two working days to wait for a reply.

This was also after problems due to Royal Mail sending some of our bank mail back to the sender, so second trip to HSBC today trying to sort that and will be several more days at least until that sorted with no real explanation.

Prior to that on the same day, a trip all the way over to Shrewsbury hospital to see a consultant that could barely speak English and who thought 8 weeks was 3 months. The outcome was basically a blood test that could have been done in Bridgnorth. More public money wasted due to inefficiency and poor service.

Please keep the photos of The Swan Inn and Knowle Sands coming. I can find very old paintings from 1850ish and some photos etc. for 1996 and later but nothing in between. I am surprised that there is hardly anything in the records for the pub.

Thanks for those received so far dating as far back as 1996. It would be really interesting to seem some really old ones.

Is Mitch who used to own The Swan Inn in the year 2000 still around, and does anyone have any contact details?

I am trying to find out more about the planning permission he obtained to build the conservatory (which was obviously done) but to find out why he didn't extend the function room and level the car park to make it bigger, which he also had planning permission for. Planning and Building Control do not have any info.
