As August comes to an end in a couple of days, we would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has stayed with us over the holidays. It's been a pleasure welcoming so many families, couples and groups to The Paddocks, and we hope you've gone home with some great memories of your time in West Dorset.

We're based in the heart of the Marshwood Vale, looking up towards Lewesdon Hill, the highest point in Dorset. If you enjoy a walk, Lewesdon Hill is well worth a visit with beautiful woodland leading to the top and just along the ridge is Pilsdon Pen, with more openess and equally stunning views across West Dorset.

When you book one of our glamping pods, you'll also have your own private shower and flushing toilet in our wash block, just a few steps from your pod. Your Shower and toliet is exclusively yours for the duration of your stay.

As you may have guessed from the name, we have plenty of animals here at The Paddocks, including these pigs, who seem to have perfected the art of relaxing in the West Dorset sunshine... and the mud! They always seem to be a big hit with our guests, especially our younger visitors.

As the school holidays begin to wind down, Dorset becomes a little quieter, making it a great time for a more peaceful getaway. We often get some beautiful weather at the start of September, and we're hoping for the same this year. We still have availability in both our glamping pods and The Pad throughout September, so if you're thinking of escaping to West Dorset, we would love to welcome you.

Our nearest town, Bridport, has a market every Wednesday and Saturday, and it's always worth a visit. It's a proper market with lots of local traders, independent shops and great coffee! If you're staying with us, it's a lovely way to spend a morning.

One thing people always mention after staying with us is the night sky. With no town lights nearby, on a clear evening the stars are incredible from outside the pods. It's one of those simple things that guests never expect, but always remember.

A few people have asked what "The Pad" actually is. The Pad is our converted loft apartment, just a paddock away from the park. Sleeping up to six guests, it's perfect if you're looking for a little more space than our pods and tents, with your own kitchen, lounge, garden and parking. We still have some availability throughout August, so get in touch if you're looking for a last minute getaway in West Dorset.
