Happy September Everyone 💕
What an incredible couple of months we have had. Thank you for staying with us a Britmead 😍 We are looking forward to the autumn months now … and lighting our lovely log burner in the Rope and Rudder. The simple things in life bring so much joy!
Welcoming September
The shadows stretch across West Bay, where towering cliffs turn gold,
The summer breeze from off the waves is growing crisp and cold.
The harbour grows a little still, the season turns its page,
September takes the Dorset coast upon its autumn stage.
No longer chasing summer days, we welcome cooler air,
The rustle of the turning leaves, the sea mist hanging fair.
We trace the road to Britmead, leaving salty shores behind,
To find the warm, familiar peace we’ve held all day in mind.
Inside the house, the curtains close against the gathering night,
The Rope and Rudder’s waiting for the evening’s amber light.
We stack the wood and strike a match, and watch the embers glow,
As heat spreads from the log burner while shadows dance below.
With crackling flames and quiet comfort wrapping all around,
There’s nowhere else in all the world we’d rather now be found.
Let autumn fall upon West Bay, let wild winds start to roar
