The Grand Hotel Brighton

The Grand Hotel Brighton Welcome to The Grand Brighton This is a truly remarkable hotel. Magnificent, imposing and the epitome of luxury. This is The Grand, Brighton.
(1093)

An iconic Victorian building, it stands centre stage on the vibrant Brighton seafront and is a local landmark. The Grand experience is one you will never forget. It's in the splendour of the 123 step sweeping staircase and the exquisite textures in the bedrooms. It's in the stunning sea views and the warmth with which you are welcomed. It's in its innate sense of style

History of The Grand Bright

on
Boomtown. Brighton took off in the mid 19th century, following the arrival of the new fangled steam railway. The Grand opened in 1864, providing luxury accommodation for the massive increase in visitors to the town. All 201 rooms were taken for the first night. Guests were welcomed to a hotel with all mod cons: There was a billiard room, a ball room, a smoking room, a library and one of the first hydraulic lifts in the country - referred to as an ascending omnibus! The hotel has attracted the great and good from the UK and abroad. Everyone from Gordon Brown to JFK. An assassination attempt on Margaret Thatcher in 1984 caused significant damage. The hotel reopened in 1986, restored to its former glory, but with many additional modern features. The magnificent Grand is a popular location for films and television shows. Coronation Street, East Enders and Only Fools and Horses have all shot episodes in the hotel. Political conferences started here 75 years ago, and the Grand is still a favourite venue today. Brighton has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years. The city feels young and vibrant and The Grand Brighton is a central part of the cosmopolitan atmosphere and a real centre piece in the future of Brighton.

Summer at The Grand🌊 Scroll through for a Grand Insider look at the moments that have made this summer so special. We’ve achieved a lot in summer 2026, from Pride, to Lounge Sessions, colourful collaborations with local artists, and beach cleans.

Most importantly, it’s been a summer filled with our brilliant team, familiar faces and plenty of new ones too. Thank you to everyone who joined us, collaborated with us and shared a Grand moment in Brighton this summer. 💙

We introduced our ice cream cart to keep you all refreshed during the Pride Parade🍦

We launched 6 colourful new cocktails in collaboration with local artist, Lois O'Hara and the team had a lot of fun bringing the menu to life🍸

We helped clean up the beach! We’re incredibly lucky to have Brighton’s iconic seafront right on our doorstep and during the busy summer months it doesn’t take long for the litter to build up. It’s important that we play our part in looking after the place we call home🌊

We filmed our team interview series with the help of Red Pigeon Media and some friendly faces from around the hotel! Have you watched them yet?

And filmed plenty of b-roll along the way🎥

We can’t even count how many cocktails we served up this summer! 🍹

We hosted our Lounge Sessions, bringing live music and DJ sets to our Victoria Bar & Lounge for a series of nights in July with the help of GO2 Entertainment and Ridgeview Wine Estate 🎤

We met with K I T T Y M c C U R D Y who’s artwork is inspired by the views from our windows and sits proudly in a few of our newly refurbished suites! We can’t wait to show you what we’ve got planned with Kitty soon…👀

We hosted Christmas in June🎄 An evening showcasing all the wonderful offerings we’ll have later in the year during the festive period!

A few members of our team attended the Visit England awards and we took home the Bronze award for Large Hotel of the Year🏆

We introduced new rituals to our spa, providing more options to unwind and reset🪷 We hope you’ll join us soon!

Afternoon Tea Week calls for something sweet! 🍰

We think our afternoon tea service is pretty great, but don't just take our word for it. Here are some lovely words from our guests about our afternoon tea experience!

Served in the Victoria Terrace, afternoon tea is made even more special at this time of year. Take a seat by the windows, watch the waves roll in and take your time over tiers of sandwiches, freshly baked scones and delicate cakes, with plenty of tea (and perhaps a glass of fizz)

Read a few of our recent five-star reviews and join us to celebrate Afternoon Tea Week for yourself!✨

Introducing Blush 🌸

The final creation in our collaboration with Brighton-based artist Lois O'Hara, Blush is our non-alcoholic cocktail, inspired by the soft pink tones that feature throughout Lois' artwork.

Served in a striking pink and green glass, the contrasting colours reflect the playful combinations that have become synonymous with the artist's work.

Fresh strawberries, evaporated and condensed milk, vanilla and pink gel are combined to create a creamy, foamed mocktail. Reminiscent of childhood favourites like strawberry milk, it's a nostalgic serve with a refined twist! Paired with a salted caramel chocolate from Art Chocolat.

Thank you for following along as we've introduced each cocktail in the collection. We can't wait to welcome you to Victoria Bar & Lounge to experience the collaboration for yourself. 🎨🍸
