Tuesday night, and what a night it was 🎭

We started by hosting our friends from Bristol Hippodrome, Bristol Bears, What’s On Bristol and the RAC for a two course dinner here at the hotel. Then we all headed across to the Hippodrome to watch Back To The Future: The Musical from a VIP box.

Honestly? Incredible. The DeLorean alone was worth the trip 🚗⚡

A huge thank you to Bristol Hippodrome for such a brilliant treat, and to everyone who joined us. Good food, great company and a show we’ll be talking about for weeks. Bristol, you’re a good one 💛

Back To The Future is on at the Hippodrome until 21 Nov. If you’re making a night of it, you know where to find us for dinner first 😉

This is Christmas in Bristol, DoubleTree style 🎄

The Bristow Ballroom, dressed and ready for a Christmas party night. Festive tables, candlelit lanterns, a black and white dance floor and everything in place for a proper end-of-year celebration.

And there’s a little piece of Bristol history in the room too. Look towards the back wall and you’ll spot Concorde, a nod to the world-famous aircraft built just up the road in Filton.

This December, the Bristow Ballroom will host our Christmas party nights, from the ABBA Tribute Night on 4 December through to our Festive Christmas Party Nights on 17 and 18 December.

Bristol does autumn well, and the best way to see it is on foot with a coffee in hand. Start along the harbourside, cut up through Castle Park as the leaves turn, and you’ve got one of the nicest short walks in the city right now.

A few favourites to build the walk around:

☕ Small Street Espresso - tucked just off Corn Street, one of the best flat whites in the city centre
☕ Full Court Press - bright, laid-back spot near the harbourside, good for a sit-down before you carry on walking
☕ Hart’s Bakery - under the arches at Temple Meads, perfect if you’re finishing (or starting) your walk near the station

🚶 Castle Park - for the turning leaves and the old church ruins
🚶 Harbourside to Temple Meads - flat, easy, and full of water views the whole way
🚶 Brandon Hill / Cabot Tower - a bit more of a climb, but the view over the city is worth it

Whether it’s a lunch break or a proper weekend wander, this is the season for it.
