Bonkers Bank Holiday Bees . It was all going so well until 1 hive decided to swarm ( regular activity for BH ! ) then they all went back to same hive .. no idea why .
Some beautiful frames full of different colours of pollen all packed in ready for winter supplies . None of these bees will get to benefit from their hard work but the winter bees will be very grateful !

Busy day for Pedro ..once the sun came out .
Lovely drink of fresh rain water followed by a mud bath and spot of grooming with his friend Bobby Long Legs . Exhausting !!

Not a quick hobby .. this bee keeping takes time and patience but so rewarding . It’s not just about honey production , without bees we would have no food ! Got to look after them .

The whole process of extracting bees from where they shouldn’t be and relocating them to the hive ! Took us 2 hours to safely remove them all and put back into hive . They are the most remarkable creatures and so resourceful.. they made all this in just 2 weeks . Very calm bees despite the carnage we created moving them ..think they appreciate the help !

Bees decided to build this amazing wild comb in crate their hive was on not in the hive ..bit of a challenge to get them out of here and back in hive ! Full footage to follow ! You just never know what you are going to encounter when you go to the apiary ! They built this in just 2weeks .

So many bees today all trying to get back into hive with sacks of beautiful pollen ..stashing it away ready for winter . Hopefully they are also finding some nectar to make honey stores for winter too !

Fascinating to watch this tiny creature emerge and immediately go to find food ! These bees become nurse bees until they are big enough to join the foraging bees but they still have a job within the hive cleaning up and making new comb for Queen to lay in or for bees to fill with pollen or nectar . Busy lives ..

Wisteria out for 2nd time this year in Broadway . Just had to share it’s and it was full of bumble bees too ! Broadway tower is a must visit too .

Seriously upset this hive today ..unfortunately out of necessity ! They had a Queen that was only laying drone ( male ) bees and we can’t have that so she had to found and removed. The bees were not so happy about this but managed to locate the mislaying Queen . Hopefully now they will raise a better one .
