‘There is nothing more musical than a sunset’
Beautiful scenes out of the windows of Brook House this evening, always fortunate to have such spectacular landscapes to look out to📸🌅
My Victorian style B&B combines original features alongside 4 newly decorated rooms adding a modern day feel to a lovely nights stay. .

We started the full time business in 1996 although we began on a part time basis in 1991 when I lost my job as a teacher - whoops that was unfair - and my husband lost his job as Advertisement Manager of a Coventry newspaper - whoops that was unfair - and over those years I have met so many people from all over the world. Many have returned again and again and many I call my friends. Some of them will remember my husband, Owen, who died in July 1999 after a long illness. In December 2000 I met Jim who took a very active part in helping to run the guest house, creating a beautiful garden, doing private hire in his spare time - what spare time ? Sadly he died in March 2005. If only people had listened to us.
My daughter, Lisa, helped over the years but never wanted to take on the responsibility of running it herself. Her heart lay elsewhere in looking after dogs so now she is where she first started at the age of 12 as a volunteer, at the Dogs Trust in Wickhamford . As her daughter , Georgia grew, she began to help me and still does, along with many other jobs as she studied Sports Therapy and has just qualified from Hartpury College. Summer 2018
Just over a year ago my son Geoff came to live here - that is a long grisly story, so he is now helping me in the Guest House and putting everything into the inside of a bungalow shell left by two different builders at the top of the garden. We’ll get there but it is taking rather longer than I would have hoped. I love Brook House, I love meeting all the people - well nearly all - and hope to be able to continue for some time yet. I do not think I am ready to sit in an armchair in front of the TV and wait to die.
I look forward to meeting many more people
