Thought I’d spend a peaceful afternoon pressure washing the patio.

Several hours later I’d pressure washed:

* the paving
* my face
* most of the garden

But honestly… worth it for this view ✨

If you are staying with us at The Boathouse or Littlemill Cottage we can 100% recommend booking a wee beach sauna with these guys 💯

Alert! 🚨 It’s nearly May and when that new month hits, we’re heading back to Kildonan! YES! We’re excited to be back with our friends at Sealshore Campsite with the first sessions on the 5th and 6th of May, and then every week - we hope - for the whole summer!
There is going to be a special event at another location in Kildonan soon… keep your eyes peeled for that! 😉

So excited that our new Kildonan community cafe & shop is opening this Friday.

Great news for all our guests - from next month our village will have a new community shop & cafe - and it’s less 5 minutes walk!

After many years without a shop, Kildonan Village on Isle of Arran is buzzing with excitement at last!
On 27th March, the doors will finally open to the brand-new Kildonan Community Shop & Café — a vibrant, welcoming space at the heart of the village, arriving just in time for Easter celebrations.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that the café and shop will be run by David Moffat and Harry Talbot, two highly experienced professionals in catering and hospitality. With their passion, expertise, and warm welcome, the future of this much-loved community hub is in fantastic hands.

This is more than just a shop and café — it’s a milestone moment for the village. A place to gather, connect, and thrive together once again.

Thank you all for your continued support in bringing this exciting community asset to life. It belongs to the village, and it’s here to stay.

Sooooo we just wanted to apologise for having a bit absent here recently. We’ve been kinda busy renovating our new self catering property which will be available from Easter 2026 Littlemill Cottage
We love our Boathouse guests and we’re looking forward to welcoming lots more of you in 2026 but now we have this additional property to share with you too. It’s been an absolute labour of love with Max having done all of the building work himself (with a little help from some amazing pals!). We’re NEARLY finished and can’t wait to share it with you.
Thanks for sticking with us and merry Christmas from our wee hoose to yours. 🤶🎅

Great news! Arran Geopark has today been awarded UNESCO Status as a Global Geopark!

Arran’s popularity with tourist has long been recognised, and it is hoped that this will put Arran on the world stage in terms of international responsible tourism. VisitArran CEO Sheila Gilmore, also Chair of Arran Geopark stated:
“To gain UNESCO status is an amazing accolade and thanks must go to all those in the community who have worked and contributed in any way to this achievement. Being a Geopark is all about our people & culture, our environment, our flora and fauna – Arranology if you like – we want our visitors to really embrace the island” 👏👏👏
