It’s spring and Glenisla is open for business 🏑. We welcomed our first guests of the season over Easter weekend 🐣 and look forward to welcoming more over the coming months.

Spring is a brilliant time to visit Arran - the beaches are quiet πŸ–οΈ the walking is fantastic πŸ₯Ύ the golf courses are in great shape ⛳️ and the whole island feels like it’s coming back to life after winter 🌿

April, May and June dates still available. Drop us a message if you’d like to know more.

MACHRIE MOOR STANDING STONES

Explore a Neolithic centre of ritual and domestic activity, scattered across a lonely moorland.

This rich archaeological landscape includes stone circles, standing stones, burial cairns and cists, as well as hut circles and an extensive field system, all dating to between 3500 and 1500 BC.

The stone circles were preceded by elaborate timber circles on exactly the same sites. They were associated with religious activities dating back around 4,500 years. Cremation and inhumation burials were placed in the circles, long after they were first built.
