Auchrannie Charitable Trust (ACT) recently awarded a grant to Disability Arran to help fund the purchase of a new Eco Printer and accessories.

Elizabeth Bell Chair of the group said:
“We would like to thank Auchrannie Charitable Trust for their grant to help us purchase a printer, ink and paper. This will help us to keep our paperwork up to date, such as membership forms, and enable us to produce posters to let the public know about meetings, events and campaigns we are involved with.”

Carol Hayman, Trustee and Elizabeth Bell, Chair of Disability Arran are pictured below with the new printer and laminator.
And, of course, Ernie the cat also made an unexpected appearance! 🐾

The Auchrannie Charitable Trust (ACT) has awarded a grant to Brodick Tennis Club to purchase new benches and a notice board for the recently reopened Brodick Tennis Courts.

ACT Trustee Glen Sloss joined the club for its official opening day on Saturday and is pictured enjoying one of the new benches alongside Maggie Carson, President of Brodick Tennis Club.

Maggie said: “We are delighted to have received funding from ACT to purchase a couple of recycled plastic benches for Brodick Tennis Club. These will be placed courtside next to Courts 1 and 3 for players to use.”

It’s fantastic to see the courts back in action and to support a local facility that brings people together through sport 🎾

The Auchrannie Charitable Trust (ACT) has once again awarded a grant to the Arran Theatre and Arts Trust (ATAT), which organises a range of cultural events across the island, including Arran Open Studios and the McLellan Festival.

This year’s grant will help cover the cost of professional musicians performing Rossini’s Messe Solennelle at Arran High School on the 30th August. ACT’s support will help keep ticket prices affordable, with free entry for under-18s, allowing more people to enjoy the event.

ACT Trustee, Glen Sloss met with ATAT Director Heather Gough and ATAT Chair Kirsteen Holuj to present them with the cheque.

The Auchrannie Charitable Trust has awarded a grant to the Arran High School Parent Council to replace water baths used in science lessons.

Andrew Randall, Chair of the Parent Council, said:
“Thank you so much for supporting Arran High School. This funding allows us to replace water baths in the science faculty, which will support our island’s young people for many years to come.”

Mrs McGrath, Faculty Leader of Science, added:
“Water baths are essential in the science department, as many experiments need to be carried out at a controlled temperature. Electric water baths are much safer, quicker to set up and provide much greater control over experiment temperatures.”

The grant reflects the Auchrannie Charitable Trust’s ongoing commitment to supporting local young people and community initiatives across Arran.

Pictured with the new water baths are Euan Fleming, Luca Duncan, Andrew Randall, Mrs McGrath, Ella-Raye Beggans and Lucy Napier.

We welcomed the lovely P6/7 class from Brodick Primary to the resort as part of their ‘World of Work’ week.

We ran through a couple of practical sessions including making mocktails, housekeeping as well as an intro to spa treatments.

We finished the session off with a Q&A where the kids tested our team with some amazing questions about their role within Auchrannie.

Thanks to their teacher Mrs Martin for bringing them along to meet us!
