'Travelling to new destinations'. These four railway posters adorning the station's façade are new. The chocolate brown BR paint looks sumptuous when freshly coated.

Put it in your diaries - our very first Craft Fayre! ✨

We are so excited to be hosting our first ever Craft Fayre here at Kindred III.

We’ll have an amazing selection of talented local artists and crafters selling their beautiful handmade creations. We’ll be sharing more about them soon, but honestly… they are incredibly good!

We’ll also be serving takeaway coffee, tea, milkshakes and delicious cakes for you to enjoy while you browse. Perfect to grab and wander around the Scarecrow Festival afterwards (which is always brilliant!).

Please tag your friends and share this post…not only to support us, but also these wonderful independent artists and makers.

We can’t wait to see you there!

Love,

Jasmine, Joanne & Jessie xx

'The abandoned railway stations given a new lease of life. From luxury guesthouses to quaint cafés, these historic stops have been lovingly returned to their former glory'.

We thank Adrian Bridge, journalist and travel writer, for getting in touch while preparing this article for the The Telegraph . We are so pleased to be showcased within his selection of former train stations, turned around as spaces reimagined with new uses.

From food and drink establishments at former stations in Yarmouth and London to renovated stations in historical places in the Scottish Borders, Northern Ireland and Cumbria and in the company of the 'Old Railway Station at Petworth', the famous B&B, and with another Herefordshire station at Stoke Edith. It is an honour to be in Adrian's article alongside brilliant projects.
How splendid.

For us, here at Rowden Mill Station, the journey of restoration and preservation has been a real labour of love. Immersing ourselves in railway history, looking for sustainable ways to resolve practical issues to finally receive guests for a railway experience in nature.

'Herefordshire, Fair Land of Enchanting Beauty'
This railway poster partly frames the entrance to our Parcel Office. It is a replacement after the weather had got to the previous poster. Now in new material, more resilient to withstand the elements.

Historically one of the jobs the station porters had, especially in a small country station, was the upkeep of the platform. Apart from carrying luggage and moving parcels, porters had cleaning duties. These would often also involve looking after the flower beds and pots on the station.

This week, it was our turn to give the box shrubs a trim, bringing them back into shape. It is very pleasing when your eye moves from one to the other along the platform.
