Team of the Year! 🏆✨

We’re still feeling very proud of this one.

Highland Coast Hotels has been named Team of the Year at the Highland Business Women Awards and while the award belongs to the whole HCH team, we’re especially proud of the team here at Royal Marine Hotel.

From the colleagues welcoming guests through our doors, to the kitchen, housekeeping, bar, and all the people working behind the scenes, our team brings the Royal Marine to life every day.

Across Highland Coast Hotels, our teams at Lochardil House, Royal Golf Hotel, Royal Marine Hotel, Tongue Hotel, Plockton Inn and Kylesku Hotel each have their own character and communities, but we’re all connected by the same love for Highland hospitality.

To be recognised alongside so many brilliant businesses and organisations from across the Highlands was an honour in itself. To come away with Team of the Year was something very special.

National Dog Day seems like a good excuse to celebrate the dogs who love the Highlands as much as we do. 🐾

At the Royal Marine Hotel, Brora’s beaches, woodland paths and open spaces are right there waiting to be explored, perfect for a day of muddy paws and fresh Highland air.

Lonie’s 10-year anniversary, and what a journey it’s been!

When Lonie first joined the Royal Marine, it was simply to earn some money and start working life. Fast forward 10 years, and they’ve worked across almost every corner of the hotel, from pot wash and housekeeping to the kitchen, night porter shifts and breakfast service.

And now? It’s time for the next chapter, swapping the kitchen for Front of House and learning more about the bar and restaurant. 🍸

For Lonie, it’s all about learning something new, meeting new people and becoming someone who can lend a hand wherever they’re needed.

Their favourite thing about the Royal Marine? The people. A team that’s friendly, supportive and always ready to help each other, although apparently there is one particular favourite… our GM, Andrew!

And after 10 years, his three-word description of life at the Royal Marine?

“Workplace worth experiencing.”

We couldn’t agree more. Here’s to 10 years, countless memories and plenty more to come. ❤️

A little bit of celestial magic over Brora tonight. 🌒✨

The Moon is crossing the Sun this evening, creating a spectacular partial solar eclipse across Scotland.

With the wide-open skies and coastline of Brora, there's no better excuse to step outside and take a moment to look up.

The eclipse reaches its peak around 7pm, weather permitting, of course!
