As many of you know, since losing our wonderful Dad, Paul, in 2024, things at Woodend have changed. With heavy hearts, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to sell some of the holiday lets, and now only The Buttery remains.

We’re incredibly sad about this, as Woodend was Dad’s passion and creation. He poured so much love, care and vision into making it the special place so many of you have enjoyed over the years.

The Buttery is still here, tucked away in the heart of the Lake District National Park, and we’d love for people to continue making memories there, whether you’re returning for another stay or discovering its magic for the very first time.

Jella would be so grateful if you’d take a look at the new website and share it with anyone who might love a peaceful escape in this beautiful corner of the Lakes.

I discovered by chance that the company (roundme.com), hosting my 360 degree tours on the website have disappeared off the face of the earth (and I'd paid!)
So, after a couple of days learning how to construct them using another company's system (my360tours.com), here's the direct results (and they are also on the cottage sections on the website).
There's still some work to do updating some photos (like the Bothy now has a microwave, etc), and adding some outside images but they're getting there.

Well here's a game changer.
We've just extended (by cable), the Starlink internet connection into the Cottage and this was the speed in the lounge!!

Due to a last minute cancellation this week, and the following week strangely empty (one of only two in the four cottages this summer), the Schoolhouse is open for short breaks minimum 3 nights (any start and finish day), from tomorrow until Saturday 20th.
£80 per night, 4 £300, 5 £370, 6 £440, 7 £500.
Originally the week was £850.
