This half term we're being treated to some epic weather and waves 🙌

The lifeguards are busy busy busy so we thought we'd share some of their advice that they'd love you to know when heading to the beach

🟥🟨 Always swim between the red and yellow flags

❄️ The air temp is hot but the sea is still cold, allow your body time to acclimatise by entering the water slowly

🛟 If you find yourself in difficulty in the water 'Float to Live'
- tilt your head back and submerge your ears
- try to relax and breathe normally
- move your hands and feet to keep to afloat, if your legs sink thats okay, we all float differently

🌞 Enjoy the sunshine but stay safe
'Slip, Slap, Slop!'

📞 If you ever see anyone else in trouble in the water or on the coastline, call 999 and ask for COASTGUARD

🍽 Food Service Update at The Kings Arms 🍽

We’re excited to announce that we’ll now be serving food Tuesday to Saturday from 6pm — including NEW Wednesday food service! 🙌

As part of this change, our Sunday roasts will be coming to an end for the summer after our final full roast service on Sunday 7th June. However, we’ll still be hosting a special Father’s Day roast service on Sunday 21st June 👨‍👧‍👦🍻

This week’s roast meats:
🥩 Beef
🦃 Turkey (served with a pig in blanket!)

We’d like to thank everyone who’s supported our roast dinners — we’ve loved serving them and hope to welcome you in for our evening menu during the week.

Don’t panic though, our delicious roasts will return after the summer season, and our usual menu will be available on Sundays instead!

Rumps walk. Stunning scenery and beautiful weather! ☀️

Park at Pentire Glaze National Trust car park (toilets & cafe) then walk along coast via the Rumps to Polzeath beach and back to car park. Maybe stop for a drink on the beach! 🏖️

Seals 🦭 occasionally seen along the way too!

7k round trip!🚶

Sandymouth to Duckpool - great walk, 5k but hilly.

Treat yourself to a coffee and a cake 🧁☕️ at the end at Sandymouth cafe.
