This time next week the wharf, canal, castle grounds, pretty much the whole of Bude town, (and of course the Brendon Arms), will be a hive of activity for Lifeboat Day 2026! 🛟
Pasty auctions, the Grand ‘Float’ Challenge, search & rescue demonstrations, the Duck Race, live music, canoe polo, bouncy castles, raffle, street food, fireworks and much more to look forward to! 🎇
It’s such a fantastic, community-led, inspiring day for everyone, with plenty to do for all the family. If you’re in Cornwall on Monday 31st August, it’ll be well worth a visit and the appreciation levels for the RNLI are sure to shoot up 💙

I’d like to think that more often than not beach litter is the result of accidents; no-one means to drop their sunglasses in a rockpool, or get caught by the tide and lose the shoes. Even wrappers fly away under the radar and bottles drop out of bags.
Not every piece of litter is an act of idiocy. Let’s just do our bit to pick up any slack and help where we can 🫶
