Avoid the Bude traffic and save money on parking by using the park and ride scheme while you are staying with us this August. The car park is on the A39, just outside Marhamchurch.

Running every 20 minutes from 8am–7pm until 31 August, with stops at The Strand and Crooklets.

The Sunday Times says Summerleaze is the UK’s best beach. You are definitely spoilt for choice around Bude. There are the two main beaches in Bude. Just over the Downs is Northcott Mouth, a bit more rugged and remote. Or head about 10 minutes south to Widemouth Bay, good for surfers, rockpooling, dogs at Black Rock (allowed at the south end of Widemouth all year round). A bit further afield you have beautiful Crackington Haven and Sandymouth. What’s your favourite?

Chris Haslam, the award-winning chief travel writer for The Sunday Times, recently named Summerleaze Beach as the UK Beach of the Year for 2026.
Chris praises it for its sand, surf, Bude Sea Pool, cafés, coastal walks and strong “Endless Summer” atmosphere, but the main reason is the local community’s stewardship of the beach.

After a fantastic, sunny half term week, we have had some wild weather to make up for it. Last week Bude looking beautiful on a sunny evening and today’s view from the coast path after a very windy day yesterday.
