A little reminder about Pubwatch 🍻

Pubwatch is in place for a reason, to help keep pubs, staff and customers safe.

Drugs are illegal, and taking, supplying or dealing drugs on pub premises will not be tolerated. Fighting, violence, threatening or abusive behaviour, theft and damaging property are also completely unacceptable and will result in being placed on Pubwatch too.

Pubwatch works alongside local venues in Highbridge, Burnham, Berrow and Brean, with police also attending meetings to help tackle issues and keep our local pub community safe.

Being placed on Pubwatch isn’t a decision taken lightly. Pubs have a responsibility to protect their staff, customers and businesses, and sometimes that means making difficult decisions. Not liking the consequences doesn’t mean those decisions are without reason, and putting your own version of events online doesn’t change that.

In all of our pubs, we’ll always stand by our staff, put our customers’ safety first and do what we believe is right. We want everyone to enjoy themselves, but respect for the pub, the staff and the rules is a must.

Just to reassure everyone, situations like these aren’t common, and we’re very lucky to have so many wonderful customers who make The Vic and all of our other local pubs what they are. We appreciate every one of you and thank you all for your continued support 💙

And as Forest Gump said “That’s all I have to say about that”.

Do you know a local group that could benefit from our fundraising? We’d love to hear your suggestions!
