What’s your favourite camping breakfast? ⛺️

When you’ve woken to the dawn chorus (and hopefully the sun is shining) you need a brew and a great breakfast to set you up for exploring and new adventures! ⛺️

As farmers we’re passionate about produce and sourcing the best local ingredients. Available from us on site, these extremely tasty Best Pork Sausages and delicious Dry Cured Bacon are from Bolton & Son butchers in Clitheroe. Our happy Northwood hens supply the eggs and you have a cracking breakfast to start the day!⛺️

Honest, off grid, friendly pop up farm campsite with toilets and running water. A quiet site with 10 large pitches and plenty of nature and fresh air!

Only 28 days until we open to our first visitors! ⛺️

Simple, off grid, tent only camping and back to nature adventures on a working farm all within easy reach of great transport links and great places to visit in Pendle and the Ribble Valley.

Some of the best things about camping without electricity are…
- cooking on a gas camping stove or bbq
- finding your way by torchlight at night with a good LED headlamp
- staying on pop up farm campsite means you’re in a place that the public don’t usually have access to
- off grid doesn’t mean “power off” anymore! Buy a power pack to charge your phone, use rechargeable batteries or invest in small solar panels
- playing camping games and activities
- heating the water for your morning brew on your gas stove and listening to the dawn chorus
- settling down with a good book
- having adventures with friends and family away from the barrage of technology, social media and the interruptions of home

We’ve all become used to life’s home comforts and luxuries and taking some time to go off grid is invigorating and very rewarding. Roll with it, relax and let nature fill you with wonder.

If you enjoy a historical walk, while you’re staying at Northwood Farm Campsite you might like to follow the 4.5 mile Jonas Moore Trail in the foothills of Pendle Fold.

Sir Jonas Moore was a mathematician, astrologer and radical thinker born in Higham in 1617 and was pivotal in establishing GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) becoming known affectionately as “the father of time”. He mixed with royalty and had famous friends like Christopher Wren and Samuel Pepys, but despite his ground breaking work, his name has sadly been forgotten over time.
