It was set up in 2010 as a farm diversification project at Gibside’s Cut Thorn Farm and has since continued to support the main farm business of breeding Beef Shorthorn Cattle, which are a native breed, originally found in the Teeswater & Du

rham regions. West Wood Yurts comprises of six generously spaced yurts: 2 large yurts for sleeping up to six people and 4 small yurts for sleeping up to four people. The newest unit, our Shepherd’s Hut, offers a romantic private getaway for two, with space for 1 child.
