Last weekend these beautiful humans took to the trees for the first time.

Environmental designers from on a trip to the . What fun to share the canopy with them all. Thank you.

Following a brief history of tree climbing techniques, we got a little engrossed in throwlining, climbed about and hung hammocks in the canopy to lounge in.

Everything you always wanted to know about Tree Climbing (*but were afraid to ask) Part 1...
How do you get the ropes up there?

Well, there are no wrong answers, unless they damage the tree.
You can use a ladder of course, but we all know how dangerous they can be. You can throw your rope and work your way from branch to branch, or you can use a throw weight and some very strong string to get a more accurate throw higher in the canopy and save a few changes between ropes.
Or there’s the custom Big Shot catapult, the very best there is. When you absolutely, positively have to anchor every branch in the tree, accept no substitute.
Tongue firmly in cheek and a big thank you to for the first slow-mo video I’ve seen. So lucky the line came out clean that time.

Putting the ropes to bed after a full on day of climbing and mucking about at Frost Camp 2020 .copse last January, in anticipation of another fun day to follow.
Tree climbing at night comes with its own rewards and challenges. A couple of decent floodlights solve a few problems though!

Okay, so we’re not quite there yet. Change is coming, and I’m so happy to offer Tree Climbing sessions for groups of up to five people from Monday. There’s no getting around me being the sixth yet.

Feeling cooped up lately? I thought a good remedy would be one-to-one tree climbing sessions.
It’s been great fun. Everyone walked away having tried something new, even if they’d tree climbed before, and after really immersing themselves in the Great Outdoors.
It’s a wonderful way to get away from it all and figure out what really matters.
I’ve loved every minute of sharing the experience with them again, so thank you everyone who’s been along already, and I look forward to seeing some new faces in the coming weeks too.
