In order to be able to recommend to guests, we roped the parents in to try out Elmswell Tavern
Service was exceptional. Everyone very attentive and prompt and plenty of staff. Not once did we have to look out for someone and get their attention. The menu has a few classics and a few healthy options - something for everyone. The food is good value for money and within easy walking distance of the cottage. The desserts were lovely. Scoffed before we could get any pics!

Random but stunning combo of snails and roses today. Very limited opening windows but well worth it!

Really super feedback from these lovely guests. Not able to get away very much at all, we felt privileged to make sure these guests had a super break.

The roses have landed. Which is your fave? Mine’s the shell pink around the middle. All a little later than most people’s as they’re in some shade of the trees but it means they don’t get frazzled by full sun. An accidental bonus

that in 1327 a group of townsmen stormed the abbeygate and captured the abbey prior and thirteen monks, imprisoning them at the Guildhall during an uprising over the abbey taxing the towns' merchants too heavily! ⛓️
