C H I C K E N. M A T H S // Did you know we have 5 chickens on site? Fun facts about FARM FRESH EGGS (left in our welcome hamper) & CHICKENS🐣

🐔 Eggs are laid with a protective layer called “bloom” that seals the pores on the egg to keep bacteria from entering.

🥚 Unwashed eggs can stay on the counter for several weeks.

🧊 Washed eggs must be refrigerated and last up to two months.

🐓 Store your eggs upside down to help keep the fresh (pointy side down).

🐥 Chickens are omnivores. They love bugs, frogs, snakes, mice and other small creatures along with all kinds of vegetation.

🥔 Chickens shouldn’t have potato skins.

🐣 Farm eggs have 1/3 less cholesterol,1/4 less saturated fat, 2/3 more vitamin A, Two times more omega-3 fatty acids and three times more vitamin E than store bought eggs.

🐤 You can tell if the egg is fertilized by there being a white “bullseye” on the yolk.

🥚 One egg can have as many as 17,000 pores on the shell.

🐔 The breed of the chicken will determine the color of the egg. We have 4 different breeds and colours here!

🍳 The yolks contain vitamin D.

🏃‍♀️ Chickens run faster than humans. I know this!

A N N O U N C E M E N T 🌟 This year at The Honeypot, we're continuing our fundraising initiative by renting out our warm outdoor pool with surrounding hosting space (in between holiday let guests) for a minimum donation to our local primary school just 3 doors down! 🏊‍♂️ Help us surpass last year's success and continue to support our local community. We will be running this April to September inclusive (weather dependant). F U N. O N. T H E. F A R M // There is so much to do for families in our area we are spoilt for choice! Yesterday we ventured off the ranch to visit a wonderful farm at where we cuddled guinea pigs, chatted to the alpacas and enjoyed a peacock showing his mighty feathers! We are just a short drive away from here… if you can tear the kids away from our own backyard! Some half term availability and plenty of off peak availability for this winter still left. Hey there, Honeypot fans! 🏡✨

We've noticed our Honeypot family growing, and we couldn't be happier to have you all here. 🥰 We wanted to take a moment to introduce the faces behind the magic that happens at our cozy cottage.

🌼 Jess - The heart and soul of Honeypot. From the spotless cleans to the well-stocked interiors and friendly chats with our guests, she does it all! She also grows and picks the fresh flowers in the Honeypot.

💼 Geoff - The man in the shadows who makes it all possible. He's the Chief Technology Officer for his brother's company, keeping the family ship afloat.

👦👦 Our Two Chicken Experts - Our adorable little boys ensure we pick the perfect toys for the honeypot and keep our feathered friends happy. They're the real MVPs!

🐔 The Chooks - Our six clucky companions who generously provide the eggs for your welcome baskets. Feel free to visit them anytime you like.

A. B U R Y. G O O D. I D E A // I am sitting here with this view reflecting on the fact that so many good local people helped us raise around £600 for Bury Primary School this summer by renting out our pool when we didn’t have guests, 100% for donations. Thank for everyone who contributed! We will definitely do this again next summer so follow us on social media for more info and dates as we release them. It’ll make a huge difference to a small and brilliant village school. Jess and the family @ The Honeypot ❤️

O U T D O O R. A D V E N T U R E S // We are lucky enough to have 3.5 acres for you to explore in West Sussex and here are a few views/produce you can see and enjoy at the moment! Flowers, blackberries, tomatoes, eggs from our lovely chickens… and of course hidden toys our 3 year old enjoys hiding 🤣🙈 a few nights left in September 4-7th or 10-13th £150 for one night or £400 for 3 nights.
