Our lovely village!

Did you know the Peak District village of Longnor was turned into Jane Austen’s fictional Lambton in the BBC’s adaptation of Pride & Prejudice?! 📺👀

The famous novel was written just down the road in the charming market town of Bakewell, and Jane Austen stayed at the Rutland Arms Hotel in 1811 🛌 It’s thought she even based her idea of Pemberley on Chatsworth House too! 🏡

We are so excited to see the village pub re-opening!

Tomorrow at 5pm the doors of Ye Olde Cheese Cheese Inn will be open once again. We can't wait for you all to see how the pub looks now! It's a fantastic transformation.

DISCOVER ... Longnor. Longnor is a beautiful little Peak District village in the Staffordshire countryside, situated on a high ridge between Buxton and Hartington. It’s a place full of history, with pretty stone houses and a wealth of fascinating buildings lining cobbled streets. Longnor was a significant market town in the 18th and 19th Centuries and at the heart of the village is the old market square, complete with an original sign displaying the table of charges payable for buyers and sellers. No wonder that it's been used as a set for a number of TV and film productions, including Peak Practice and Pride and Prejudice.
