Here’s one of our favourite places to visit, just a short drive from the cottage. A bit of moorland beauty at Owler Tor, just a short walk from the car park ar Surprise View. Not far away is the Grindleford Community Shop which serves tea and delicious homemade cake. A perfect afternoon out!

We took the opportunity of not being able to have guests staying at the cottage last Autumn to have work done in the garden - replacing the bit of lawn with paving, and building another patio at the very top of the garden, with a pair of seats for a quiet place to sit. We thought it would be a while before the garden looked established, but it’s already growing well (including the weeds, unfortunately!).

If you’re looking for somewhere to eat in Tideswell then there are lots of great places! One of them is The Roost on Queen Street. Delicious, good quality good, freshly made.

So much wonderful sunshine!

Look at the weather forecast for today! A perfect day for a mooch around Tideswell. As well as the Peak District Yarns Studio, we have a good selection of cafes/eateries, a great second-hand bookshop (Peak Volumes), the best organic butchers for miles, Tindalls the bakers, a gift/card shop, and the stunning Cathedral of the Peak. Look forward to seeing you later :-)

Great to see the wonderful Hathersage Swimming Pool featured here! The cafe next door is really good, and is very Covid-safe.

It’s so lovely to see everything opening up again, after a very long winter. Tideswell is looking beautiful in the spring sunshine today, although it’s VERY cold!
