🎺🎉 150 years of music, community and tradition! 🎉🎺

We're absolutely delighted to be hosting Tideswell Brass Band's 150th Birthday Celebration here at The George on Saturday 18th July.

Founded in 1876, Tideswell Brass Band has been part of village life for an incredible century and a half, bringing people together through music and representing Tideswell far and wide. That's 150 years of concerts, community events, Whit Friday marches, celebrations and keeping the wonderful brass band tradition alive right here in the Peak District.

Join us from 6pm onwards for what promises to be a fantastic evening of great music, good company, plenty of brass and a proper celebration of this remarkable milestone.

One of our absolute favourite times of the year is nearly here… 🎪❤️

Tideswell Wakes (or Tidza Wakes, as we all know and love it) returns this June, and this year is extra special as we celebrate 80 years since the revival of Wakes in 1946. While the tradition itself dates back hundreds of years, Wakes has become one of the most important and colourful parts of village life, bringing the whole community together year after year. From the well dressings and carnival procession to the music, laughter and village spirit, there’s nothing quite like it.

We’re proud to be right in the heart of the celebrations and can’t wait to join in the fun once again.

Our new slushy machine has landed, which means there’ll be delicious frozen drinks popping up behind the bar all summer long.

Sometimes we’ll have boozy slushies ready to go, sometimes we’ll have juice or soda based slushies that you can keep alcohol-free or add a little tipple to if you fancy.

We’re buzzing to have Paul Robinson with us at the The George Inn this Saturday from 8:45pm. Expect a brilliant night of live music, great atmosphere, good beer flowing, and hopefully a few sunny drinks beforehand too 😎
