Exploring the hills and nooks behind our house, we came across this unusual sight amongst the yellow of gorse. No filter or edit at all. "Say what you see" aptly named yellow brain fungus or golden jelly fungus! The eldest loves it! &wonder

An eventful evening last night here as two tired and wet walkers arrived on our doorstep having separated for their friends on the misty hills. Great job by Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team- volunteers who come out in all weathers at any hour to rescue those lost or injured. Very pleased that it all ended well....just another Saturday night in Blaen Nanmor!

Incident 11/2017 | 11/03/2017 - Gelli Iago

Team alerted at 19:45hrs to a report of two walkers who had become separated from their group and were now lost in the area of Gelli Iago in poor visibility.

The Team deployed 12 Team Members and two vehicles whilst assistance was sought from Search and Rescue Dogs Association (Sarda Wales) who deployed two Search Dogs to assist.

At 22:35hrs, the pair were located safe and well, although wet and cold by Search Dog Scout and his Handler Richard Beech. The pair were then safely escorted to safety off the hill.

Team stood down at 00:35hrs

It's been a while! Feels like a change in the season and already there is more light at the end of the day.

We've also turned a corner in our new lives here. Since our last post, we've made the permanent move to Snowdonia, juggled old work commitments with new and happily brought our second son into the world. When we arrived he was only 2 months old, now 10 months and he is eager to explore outside with his brother, and we finally have some energy to be online again!

We've welcomed many guests and looking forward to welcoming more this year. Please get in touch if you are interested in staying.

We're also now trying a few new things so please keep an eye out.
First, we're excited to be hosting a Writing, Walking and Meditation retreat led by Elaine Kingett of 'Write It down' in April and September. http://write-it-down.co.uk/wales/. Only a few spaces left for April!
