Our beautiful Princess Margaret Junior Suite offers an elegant, relaxing space surrounded by British Royal Family memorabilia.

We particularly love to share some of the official wedding gifts from HRH Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon's wedding that feature in this room.

HRH Princess Margaret was a regular visitor to Plas Dinas Country House and was much loved by the local community.

Our absolutely beautiful November and December menu has been carefully curated by Daniel and his team of ambitious chefs and you don't have to wait much longer to try it. It is another exciting menu from the gents in the kitchen and we cannot wait!

Just a heads up that from 8th - 16th November we will be closed as some of our team have a well earned rest and others will be here to refresh and re-love our historic house and to dress her in all her festive glory. Our beautiful country house tells of the multi-generational love story of the Armstrong-Jones family. Each room individually designed around the person they represent with months of research going into each room. The many chapters of incredible people who loved Plas Dinas Country House, just like we do.

Sir Robert Armstrong-Jones, CBE JP DL FRCS FRCP FSA (born Robert Jones; 2 December 1857 – 30 January 1943) was a Welsh physician and psychiatrist. He was a leading psychologist in psychosomatic behaviour and supported the army in World War I.

He was educated at Porthmadog Grammar School and Grove Park School, Wrexham, going on to study medicine at University of Wales, Bangor, and St. Bartholomew's Hospital. Sir Robert then lectured at St Bartholomew's Hospital, and became consulting physician in mental diseases to the military forces at London and Aldershot.

In 1913, he assumed the additional surname of Armstrong, which had been the maiden name of his wife's grandmother, Jane née Armstrong, because he wanted to distinguish himself from another prominent Robert Jones of the time.

During World War I, he was designated a Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Army Medical Corps; he was knighted in the 1917 New Year Honours, and after the war he was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in recognition of his war service. He was appointed High Sheriff of Caernarvonshire for 1929. He was a Fellow of both the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal College of Surgeons.

Sir Robert married Margaret Roberts in 1893 and went on to welcome Ronald (Lord Snowdon's Father), Elaine and Gwendolen who you will all know as Lady Buckley.

He sadly passed in 1943 and sadly Margaret only survived a further 4 months after his passing.

Back in August 2024 we released the Sir Robert room, a room dedicated to his passion for psychology. A love story that is now back together here at Plas Dinas.

We are located just 10 minutes from the Menai Strait. It is a stunning stretch of water filled to the brim with quality produce, such as sea bass, oysters, mussels and sea salt, which we regularly showcase here in The Gunroom Restaurant.

The other side of the Menai Strait is Ynys Môn, the Isle of Anglesey. Home to some amazing seafood and the fabulous crab currently features on our October menu. It is delicious.

We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for the UK, Europe & The Mediterranean Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence 2027. We have been shortlisted as Best Hotel for Honeymoons in the UK. The awards take place on 2nd November 2026 in London.

We were added to the Condé Nast Johansens Global Hotels of Excellence collection in October 2023 and we are so proud to have now been shortlisted for our third year with the collection.

Our award-winning country house has been designed to celebrate the multi-generational love story of the Armstrong-Jones family which of course includes Lord Snowdon and HRH Princess Margaret, so this category is just perfect for us. Last week we had the pleasure of attending the AA Hospitality awards in London, where we were awarded 3 AA Rosettes.

Our chefs have had a remarkable year and the dishes, flavours and artistry has been incredible to watch and taste. They are a strong, focused and very talented team and we wish them the world of luck in reaching their next accolades. The progress has been remarkable and they are incredibly focused on delivering exceptional food.

We are proud of each and every one of our team. We will forever be grateful to you all for supporting our beautiful country house and restaurant. Without you, none of this would be possible.
