Bach Wen is a tranquil and peaceful site overlooking Caernarfon Bay in North Wales, in the village of Clynnog Fawr, 7 miles west of Caernarfon. Our cottages are converted buildings from the working farm that served the St Beuno Monastery which dates back to the 7th century. The 9 stone cottages offer outstanding views in all directions. From the paddocks in front of the cottages you get a spectac

ular view of Caernarfon Bay, Ynys Môn, and the imposing Yr Eifl mountain range (see top right virtual tour). The backdrop to our site are the beautiful mountains of Snowdonia. We lie at the foot of Bwlch Mawr and Gyrn Goch, a mountain so symmetrical it could have been drawn by a child. When the weather is good to us we have breathtaking sunsets over Caernarfon Bay.

And they’re off!!

We’re proud to be hosting the riders of the annual Moel Siabod Sportif – a challenging 100 mile charity ride through the breathtaking landscapes of Eryri /Snowdonia, raising vital funds for Community Action Nepal.

The charity supports some of Nepal’s most remote communities, helping to rebuild homes, schools and essential infrastructure following the devastating 2023 earthquake.

We regularly welcome sporting groups, so whether you’re planning a cycling trip to North Wales or any other outdoor adventure, Bach Wen makes the perfect base.

We also work with a talented local chefs to provide hearty breakfasts and delicious meals, showcasing the best produce from local suppliers.
