The story of Bousd

Welcome to Bousd, owned and managed by George and Joanne Barrie. George is born and bred in Callander and Joanne is from Ashton-Under-Lyne, Greater Manchester.

In 2008, the day before we got married, we bought 4 1/2 acres of land on the edge of Callander. We built our own house here and called it Bousd ( pronounced Bowst) after one of our favourite places on the Isle of Coll. We are told it means ‘Homestead’.

George built Bousd Holiday Cottage in 2004 and since then we have been welcoming people on their self catering holidays from all over the World.

The best things about Bousd are being surrounded by farmland and countryside, the spectacular view of Ben Ledi on your doorstep, peace and quiet, the range of wildlife and the opportunity for us to rescue sheep, pigs and ex battery hens who all roam free across our land.
