It’s Red Squirrel Appreciation Week! 🐿️

We’re lucky to have a healthy population of red squirrels living here at Blair Drummond, so we’re always happy to celebrate these little native Scots.

This week also marks the eighth annual Great Scottish Squirrel Survey, run by Saving Scotland's Red Squirrels. From the 5th – 11th of October, they’re asking people across Scotland to look out for both red and grey squirrels and report any sightings.

Every sighting helps build a better picture of where Scotland’s squirrels are living. So, if you’re out exploring this week, keep an eye out for those tufted ears and bushy tails. 🐿️

Penguin fans, this one’s for you! 🐧

We’re celebrating World Penguin Day early this Saturday the 18th of April, with a day full of penguin-themed activities.

Join us from 10am – 4pm (outside the sea lion enclosure) to learn how penguins survive at sea, take on some hands-on challenges, and find out how you can help protect them in the wild. 🌊

Plus, we'll have a tombola with penguin-themed prizes and a raffle with the chance to win an exclusive behind-the-scenes penguin experience. 👀

All funds raised will go to our fundraising initiative, Link to the Wild.
