As golden hour settles across the Estate, the gardens soften, the light changes, and Bowood takes on a completely different atmosphere.

This summer, we invite you to experience Sunset First Looks, an opportunity to explore our wedding spaces at golden hour and begin imagining what your own celebration at Bowood could feel like.

Wander through the venue at your own pace, take in the evening atmosphere, and meet with our Wedding Coordinator as you discover the setting, spaces and moments that make weddings at Bowood feel so special.

A big thank you to the wonderful local businesses who have donated £1,000 worth of prizes to support this year’s Bowood Golf Captains’ fundraising for Beyond Dementia.

Zoe Banks, Lady Captain, and Jamie Stewart, Seniors Captain, recently met with several of the businesses supporting the raffle and auction ahead of their fundraising days taking place later this year.

Over the past year, an enormous amount of care, creativity and collaboration has gone into renewing Bowood Afternoon Tea.

From visiting the Tregothnan tea plantation and selecting our teas, to developing bespoke fine bone china with Duchess China 1888 and refining every detail of service within the Shelburne Restaurant, this video captures the story behind the experience.

What emerged was never intended to simply feel new. It needed to feel distinctly Bowood, shaped by heritage, craftsmanship and a stronger connection to the Estate itself.

We are incredibly proud of what Bowood Afternoon Tea has become.

While National Asparagus Day was celebrated in the UK last month, today the occasion is marked in the United States — offering another opportunity to reflect on the journey of asparagus grown within Bowood’s Walled Garden, from careful harvesting to the finishing touches in the kitchen at the Shelburne Restaurant.

It is a process that speaks to Bowood’s approach to food. The changing seasons shape what arrives on the plate, with ingredients grown and gathered across the Estate helping to inspire the dishes created by our chefs.

Thoughtfully shaped around seasonality, British craftsmanship and a stronger connection to the Estate, every detail has been carefully considered, from ingredients grown within Bowood’s Walled Garden to British-grown teas and bespoke fine bone china created exclusively for the experience.
