What a fantastic day! ☀️🚂🍔
A huge thank you to everyone who joined The Clarets’ Summer BBQ & Family Fun Day. With around 50 Companions, family members and friends attending, it was a wonderful day of good food, great company, plenty of laughter and, of course, some brilliant rides on the miniature railway! 🚂
We were especially delighted to welcome our Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, E.Comp. Mark Shields, in addition to the PGM and MEGS of Bedfordshire, Nick Edwards. We are very grateful to them for joining us with their families and supporting the day.
We were even treated to a very special Air Ambulance fly-past 🚁. One of our own Companions was the pilot on duty and managed to give us a wave as he flew overhead! 👋
Most importantly, thanks to everyone’s tremendous generosity, The Clarets raised a fantastic £860, which will be donated to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal on 16 September 2026 through WB Edmond Brookes during the Chapter of Instruction meeting. 🌺👏
A particularly big thank you must go to E.Comp. Edmund Brookes, PAGSoj, who very generously hosted the entire event at his home and personally covered all of the costs of the day. His generosity means that the money raised can go directly towards supporting this very worthy cause. A truly wonderful gesture, and one for which we are enormously grateful.
Thank you also to everyone who helped with the BBQ, miniature railway, raffle, preparations and everything behind the scenes that made the day such a success.
£860 raised, around 50 smiling faces and countless happy memories — not bad for a Saturday afternoon! 😄
